DESCRIPTION

Kawahito Katsunobu (川人勝延, 1922-2019) was a Japanese-style painter from the Shōwa era to Heisei era. Member of the Nitten. Pupil of Satō Taisei. An able painter of landscapes and flowers & birds.

  • 1922: Born in Tokushima prefecture.
  • 1967: Won a prize for the first time at the 5th Nisshunten (the spring exhibition of Japanese-style paintings by the Nitten).
  • 1973: Became a pupil of Satō Taisei.
  • 1973: Won a prize for the first time at the 5th Nitten exhibition.
  • 1980: Won a Nisshunten Prize at the 16th Nisshunten.
  • 1982: Won a special commendation at the 14th Nitten Exhibition. (Won it again at the 19th in 1987)
  • 1992: Served as a judge at the 24th Nitten exhibition.
  • 1993: Became a member of the Nitten.
  • 2019: Died.
