He was mainly good at flower-and-bird-paintings, especially peacocks, and is known as &ldquo;Okamoto Sh&#363;ki&rsquo;s peacock&rdquo; along with &ldquo;<a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=jakuchu-ito\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">It&#333; Jakuch&#363;<\/a>&rsquo;s r<i>ooster<\/i>,&rdquo; &ldquo;<a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=tosa-mitsuoki\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Tosa Mitsuoki<\/a>&rsquo;s Japanese quail,&rdquo; and &ldquo;<a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=sosen-mori\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Mori Sosen<\/a>&rsquo;s monkey.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As a painter who followed <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=kazan-watanabe\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Watanabe Kazan<\/a> and <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=tsubaki-chinzan\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Tsubaki Chinzan<\/a>, his paintings are based on decorativeness established by sketching and dense colors influenced by the Nagasaki School, with serene painting designs which were integrated of Kan&#333; School and Maruyama-Shij&#333; School, attract viewers into his world. It is said that <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=araki-kanpo\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Araki Kanpo<\/a>, who became a great master of Japanese paintings afterward, also learned peacock paintings from this Okamoto Sh&#363;ki.
