Nevertheless, he was offered a helping hand by intellectuals in Osaka he had intermingled with including <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=kimura-kenkado\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Kimura Kenkad&#333;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6242\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6242\" style=\"width: 354px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img class=\"wp-image-6242\" src=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/0e3e9eef58883b93604b6adbada35fb3.jpg\" alt=\"Kimura Kenkad&#333;\" width=\"354\" height=\"480\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6242\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kimura Kenkad&#333;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jakuch&#363; ended up staying in Osaka for a while.<\/p>\n<p>It is thought that Yoshino Goun, a supporter of Jakuch&#363; who ran a medicine wholesaler offered the work of painting on sliding screens belonging to the Saifuku-ji temple, taking the advantage of being an influential parishioner of the temple to support Jakuch&#363;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What Made Him Portray Cactuses?<\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>Yoshino Goun who gave It&#333; Jakuch&#363; an opportunity to execute the painting for the Saifuku-ji temple was a collector of rarities and cactuses were probably one of those.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17086\" src=\"https:\/\/nomurakakejiku.jp\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/%E4%BB%99%E4%BA%BA%E6%8E%8C.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"454\" height=\"340\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It is believed to be the reason why Jakuch&#363; painted the plant as a motif in his work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Saboten Gunkei-Zu, the Work Once Forgotten<\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>After Jakuch&#363;&rsquo;s passing in 1800, Saboten Gunkei-Zu was gradually forgotten in society as time passed.<\/p>\n<p>The painting was brought back into the limelight in 1926 when <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=ishizaki-koyo\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Ishizaki K&#333;y&#333;<\/a>, a Japanese&#8208;style painter who was an ardent fan of Jakuch&#363;, rediscovered it during his study.<\/p>\n<p>It was a turning point for It&#333; Jakuch&#363;, the painter who hadn&rsquo;t particularly seen as a subject of research, as he began to attract interest enough to be studied since then.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Overview of the Saifuku-ji Temple<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6230\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6230\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img class=\"wp-image-6230\" src=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/88b3ba87e9645fd5e0ede88a6c7d8137.jpg\" alt=\"Saifuku-ji Temple\" width=\"640\" height=\"398\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6230\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Saifuku-ji Temple<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Address<\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>1-6-38 Ozone, Toyonaka city, Osaka 561-0813, Japan<\/p>\n<h3>TEL<\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>+81-6-6332-9669<\/p>\n<h3>Access<\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>Hankyu- Takarazuka line &lsquo;Hattori-Tenjin station&rsquo; &ndash; 15minute walk<\/p>\n<p>In fact, this annual special opening of the Saboten Gunkei-Zu isn&rsquo;t widely known to the public.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s because HP and SNS of the Saifuku-ji temple do not exist and the only way to gain the information is limited to blogs and books written by the visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, since 2016 marked the 300th anniversary of It&#333; Jakuch&#363;&rsquo;s birth, a large-scale exhibition of his works was held in Tokyo and special TV programs about the painter were broadcasted.
