Although these works were produced before the <em>D&#333;shoku Sai-e<\/em>&nbsp;(Colorful Realm of Living Beings) series, they already have the quality of the festus series. In fact, Utagawa Hiroshige is said to have produced more than 20 other works of the 53 Stations of the T&#333;kaid&#333; series, in addition to his masterpiece ver. This exhibition introduces some of them in the museum&rsquo;s collection. It started with around 1,500 works, mainly Japanese paintings, collected by the founder of AIFUL for the purpose of establishing the museum. Since then, the museum has expanded its collection one after another to more than 1,800 works, making it one of the most active museums in Japan today. This time, 200 works from the collection of Yamamoto Kenji (former president of Rivera Co., Ltd.) have been added, significantly strengthening the range of modern Japanese paintings. The Osaka art world did not really come into its own until after the Meiji era (1868-1912), and this exhibition focuses on Osaka&rsquo;s Japanese-style painters. Although many of the painters in the exhibition appear to be painters of beautiful women, such as Kitano Tsunetomi and Shima Seien, the line-up as a whole is rich in variety, including the Nanga landscape painter Yano Kyoson and the Osaka genre painter <a class=\"glossaryLink\" href=\"https:\/\/shoga.info\/?glossary=suga-tatehiko\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Suga Tatehiko<\/a>, and is guaranteed to be very worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>18. &lsquo;Masterpieces from the Hosomi Art Museum, Kyoto &ndash; Rimpa school, It&#333; Jakuch&#363;, etc&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Dates: Wednesday 22 March &ndash; Monday 10 April 2023<\/p>\n<p>Region: &#332;saka<\/p>\n<p>Venue: &#332;saka Takashimaya Department Store<\/p>\n<p>URL: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emuseum.or.jp\/eng\/index.html\">https:\/\/www.emuseum.or.jp\/eng\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Description: The Hosomi Museum of Art, a leading museum in Kyoto, which is highly acclaimed both at home and abroad, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2023. To commemorate this anniversary, a large-scale touring exhibition will be held this year. The exhibition will tour from Osaka to Tokyo, Nagoya, Shizuoka and Nagano.
