DESCRIPTION
Shimizu Kōshō (清水公照, 1911-1999) was a Japanese monk. The 207th and the 208th Bettō (head priest) of the Tōdai-ji temple. The chief abbot of the Kegon sect. In 1980 completed repairing the Great Buddha Hall during the Showa period. Principal of Tōdai-ji Kindergarten. His paintings, calligraphic works and pottery were very popular.
